True Life Psychology

A space for slowing down, turning inward, and coming to know yourself more honestly and compassionately. Therapy here is a thoughtful, open-ended exploration of your lived experience.

About the Practice

The work is grounded in depth psychology and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and is informed by somatic awareness and mindfulness practices. Together, these approaches help illuminate the patterns, beliefs, and emotional dynamics—many of them unconscious—that shape how you relate to yourself, others, and the world.

The phrase “true life” reflects a commitment to reducing self-deception—the subtle and often protective ways the psyche shields us from pain, trauma, and vulnerability. While these strategies may once have helped us survive, over time they can keep us stuck in repetitive loops that contribute to anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, burnout, or a sense of disconnection from meaning and vitality.

In therapy, these patterns are approached with curiosity rather than judgment. As insight grows, greater clarity, freedom, and choice become possible. For those experiencing biologically or genetically influenced conditions, treatment also involves understanding what the condition means in the context of one’s life, alongside appropriate medical or supplemental support.

This practice works with adults facing:

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Mood and personality-related difficulties

  • Stress, burnout, and exhaustion

  • Addiction and compulsive patterns

  • Interpersonal and relational challenges

  • Major life transitions, loss, and questions of meaning

  • Trauma

The overarching aim is not simply symptom relief, but a more honest, integrated, and fulfilling way of living.
